2This trade seems like a potentially good trade for all three teams. The Mariners cannot play this year's Deadline safe and more or less do nothing of significance. Their fan base would lose their minds. So they trade Ford, who is ticketed for backup duty with Seattle now that Raleigh has a long-term contract and is perhaps the best catcher in baseball, and get back O'Hearn (who is having a fantastic walk year at 1B) and Urias (who would be an upgrade to what the Mariners currently have 3B and he can play other positions). The Orioles give up O'Hearn's final few months of control and 1.5 years of Urias to snag a solid middle of rotation SP in Pepiot. He is an improvement in age, salary, health and performance to almost everyone the Orioles currently have, and he will help the Orioles win a lot of games in the future. From the Rays standpoint, they might be buyers or sellers at the deadline, it's hard to say, but it's looking like McClanny will be back around the Deadline and both Boyle and Seymour are ready for the Show. The Rays won't want to trade Pep, but landing a potential long-term answer at catcher and a couple pitching prospects makes the trade worth it, even if they turn out to be buyers at the deadline. The hiccough to this trade proposal is that I can see both Ford and Pepiot getting decent bumps in value next time there's a revaluation, whereas O'Hearn and Urias are likely topped out. That would complicate the fairness of the trade, but still, the core of this trade should work for all three teams.
I agree with Ford getting a bump as he has been on a month long tear and showing the power and improved receiving that was being questioned
