Keep the bat and 4yrs of control over the arm and 1yr of control. If the Royals are out of it at the deadline maybe they revisit shopping Kris Bubic at that time. Red Sox certainly don’t view this as intriguing and easily pass on this. 👎👎
Red Sox see this as an outstanding deal and extend Bubic's contract. Sox need starting pitching. As the old saying goes "You can never have enough pitching!" This also frees up OF time for Anthony.
You are right. You can never have enough pitching, which is why the Royals are not shopping Bubic unless they are out of contention.

I strongly disagree with this. Why would the Red Sox NOT view this is as intriguing when Bubic has been one of the best SP in MLB, and has a year of control on top of it? Sure, Wilyer has a lot of control, but now they have Roman up, and they’re looking to deal an OF. If anyone doesn’t view this is intriguing, it’s the Royals.
The Red Sox are not looking to deal an Outfielder, the media pundits are, uniformed fans are, but not the Red Sox, unless you’re talking Refsnyder. All teams need 4 Outfielders, the Red Sox will be keeping Duran, Rafaela, Abreu & Anthony. And they’ll probably keep Refsnyder through the end of the year if they are in contention at the deadline.
