I hope I don't see the Rays trading too much MLB talent. This was a good team til they started losing game after game in the 7th, 8th and 9th inning. There's still 2 months to turn it around, as no one is running away with the WC. Plus, returning this squad plus adding McClan and more experience from Caminero, and half a season of Carson Williams is probably a really good team. I love Chandler Simpson in the leadoff spot for the next 5 years. I love him even more if he's in LF with a fantastic defender like Cruz in CF. I think this move improves the Rays in the short term and the long term. They move one of their half dozen young 1st baseman for a position of need. For the Pirates, they trade 3.5 years of a stalled talent for 17 years of 2 top 100 prospects and a player who was a top 50 prospect a year ago. The Dodgers have 2 major flaws: Corner outfield and bullpen. The Dodgers don't spend half a billion to go into the post season with obvious flaws. Fairbanks immediately becomes their best reliever, and Josh Lowe would likely be their best corner outfielder against RH pitching, as Teoscar can't hit a righty to save his life this year. I think all 3 teams are in a better spot after this trade than before it.
