1I can say pretty confidently that this is a slight overpay for the Yanks. Ziehl has shown excellent stuff and is somewhat of a soft contact savant, although he hasn't pitched much out of A ball as a 22-year-old, and barely tops 92-93 on his fastball, which he throws less than 16% of the time. Slater adds a lot of platoon depth to the Yankees' lineup, however, with a shocking .471 xwOBA vs LHP this year in 77 PAs. He is a rental, though, and his ability to contribute for the next 2-3 months is limited, but it is a solid move to optimize the roster for the playoffs with minimal cost.
