6I think Doyle’s value here is too low so I’ll try to put a better offer together.
Humphries is valued way too high... I feel like the Rockies would be okay with Martinez plus an SP, but Humphries wouldn't be the one...
So mention one that works. I'm also pretty sure you're wrong about him. He was a 20 yr old in A+ ball. He allowed less than 7 hits/9IP and K'd over 9/9IP. The walks were outlandishly high. He's got good velo and nasty movement. He's a big LHP with mid-rotation upside if he can harness his control.
I wish I could, but Cleveland's SP depth is lighter right now and I don't know what the Rockies would target...
We've found pretty consistent evidence that glove-only guys tend to skew low in market value. The industry generally values offense higher than defense.
Offense and TOR SP are definitely the most valuable commodities in MLB. It seems like WAR is a tool used when trades are being constructed and Doyle is one of the best defenders in MLB. He's a difficult one to value. The defense along with offensive upside. Colorado could either regret dealing him at this value or rip someone off. LOL! I'd be willing to give a little more and take the risk.
